Description

On June 16, 2026, the CFEA Pedro Murias in Ribadeo will host the event “LESS FOOTPRINT, MORE FUTURE: practical sustainability for the dairy sector” , a meeting that will focus on the main challenges and opportunities related to sustainability and climate transition in the dairy sector.

The meeting will be the final event of the LAKTIS project and will bring together professionals, technicians, advisors, cooperatives, industry and agents of the sector interested in learning about applicable tools and solutions to move towards more efficient and sustainable production models.

Throughout the day, key issues such as carbon footprint, decarbonization, circular bioeconomy, farm efficiency and the transfer of practical solutions to the dairy sector will be addressed.

Among the featured participants is David R. Yáñez-Ruiz, who will offer a scientific perspective on measuring the carbon footprint and its importance in decision-making within livestock farms.

Diego Canga will also participate, analyzing the challenges and prospects of the sector from the European context and community agricultural policies.

One of the central moments of the day will be the presentation of the “LAKTIS White Guide”, one of the main results of the project, which includes recommendations for the future of the sector developed from a perspective focused on the livestock farms themselves and the rural environment.

The program will combine technical presentations, round tables, participatory dynamics, networking spaces, a stand area and a technical visit, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the different actors in the agri-food ecosystem.

The organizers emphasize the event's particular relevance for technical and advisory profiles, given the growing need to support the sector in adopting sustainable solutions adapted to new environmental and economic challenges.
